Cats can be used as a pet, they are kept at home for fun or other purposes. As pets, they should be given the privilege to play, feed and roam around.



Kittens below three weeks of age should be well taken care of till they are mature. They should drink their mother's milk for at least three weeks before having access to other liquids or solid foods.


If the young cat is an orphan, the pet's owner should employ a veterinarian that will be in charge of providing special kitten milk for the cat.


Cats like milk perhaps because of the sugary taste or fatty content it gives. They usually love sipping the creamy part of milk.


Although it is not proper to allow pets to eat whatever they see, some foods they swallow without the owner's consent could make them fall sick. If They are given a balanced diet, I see no reason why they should be allowed to drink cow milk.


When a cat is constantly fed with a healthy diet and clean water, the body will always look fresh and the fur glitters in the sun.


Why You Shouldn't Feed Your Cat Cow's Milk


Cow milk is not good for cats, especially adult ones. Milk as a dairy product from cows contains disaccharide sugar called lactose. Lactose isn't a healthy substance for cats to swallow because adult cats are lactose intolerant, ie they have no lactase enzyme that will enable them to digest lactose in their intestine.


Although some kittens within 3 - 7 weeks of age have such lactase enzymes that enable lactose digestion and metabolism in their intestine, such can't take place with adult cats because they have no such enzymes.


Lactose intolerant cats could develop symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, fever, If allowed to take cow milk, etc. The fact that young cats have lactase enzymes that help them digest lactose should not be a yardstick as to why they will be allowed to lick cow milk.


By and large, Cow milk is generally not encouraged to give to cats, they should rather be given clean water.



Best Drinks For Your Feline Friend


For healthy reasons, clean Water is absolutely the best choice of drink for your feline friend. Almond milk, goat milk, and special cat milk may be other safe drinks for cats.

The reason is that this milk contains fewer fats or no lactose, while almonds are non-toxic. Giving it to them as a drink may not cause health challenges.

Animal pets should be treated like bosom friends, you are like the shepherd and your pet is the flock. A good shepherd won't let his flock go astray or remain unkempt.


When they are fed with a balanced diet, bathe, and periodically call on vet doctors to come to examine their health, such care will keep them in good condition.

Ways To Ensure Your Cat Stays Hydrated


Hydration simply means your cat drinks water regularly. Water is essential to sustain living things, and cats are no exception to that. it helps their digestion system function well, maintain good health and replenish fluids they lost through unhealthy weather conditions and excretion.


However, to ensure your cats stay hydrated,


  1. Give them Access to always drink clean water from a  bowl. Adult cats should be able to drink at least 0.29 liters of water per day while kittens should drink at least 0.135 liters of water per day.

  2. Eating wet food will help cats remain hydrated. Wet food can supply water and some essential minerals like calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, chloride, magnesium, and iron.
